All she needs is a blue cap and a paintbrush and Chloë Sevigny will be a shoe-in to become the new face of Dutch Boy Paints.  We're sorry, but that hairstyle wouldn't be flattering on anyone—the harsh middle part, the helmet-like hair covering the ears and the little flip at the ends—it's just bad hair.

It's not like Chloë always looks like she wants to audition to be Ishmael's daughter in the remake of Kingpin.   Earlier in the month, she was wearing her hair parted on the side and slicked back. She looked edgy and chic!

We will give her points for the makeup though.  That fiery orange lipstick is the color of the season and makes for a perfect statement lip when keeping the rest of the makeup simple.  Chloë added some falsies on her bottom lashes and kept the rest of her eye makeup minimal by applying a sheer taupe shadow on her lids and a couple coats of mascara.

Beauty Bailout (For Hair):  First thing's first—we need to breath some life into those sad locks.  We would start by washing her hair with a volume-building  shampoo like Sally Hershberger Plump Up Collagen Volume Shampoo, which would thicken and plump her locks.

Next, we would apply a volumizing mousse to her wet hair like Bangstyle Volumizing Mousse that would give hold and volume but leave hair touchable. Once the mousse is combed through, we would use our comb to make a chic side part.

Then we would use a small or medium barrel natural bristle brush and blow dryer to dry hair in sections from roots to ends. To make sure our ‘do kept it's volume, we would finish by spraying a volumizing hairspray like John Frieda Luxurious Volume All-Day Hold Hairspray.

Get the Look (For Makeup): To get Chloë's minimal yet mod eyes, use a sheer taupe eye shadow like Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Lots o' Latte by applying the pencil to your ring finger and then blending it onto your eyelids.

Next, apply a couple coats of a defining mascara like Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Mascara to your upper lash line. Follow by applying individual false lashes to your lower lash line (between every ½ inch of natural lashes). Click here to read our tutorial on how to wear false lashes.

Complete this look with an orange statement lip. Make sure you prep lips first by exfoliating and lining lips with a neutral liner. Then apply a longwearing bright orange lipstick like MAC Pro Longwear LipCreme in Good to Go with a brush to ensure accuracy and longevity.

We wish we could say Chloë's statement lip saved this look. But, unfortunately her limp locks just made us want to go out and rent Kingpin and paint our bedrooms – not quite the beauty inspiration we were looking for.
