Golden Remotes, Best Guest Star, New Series

Mean dance teachers, hooded vigilantes and teen serial killers, oh my!

What do those three have in common? They are all characters on shows competing for your votes in today's round of our 2013 Golden Remote Awards! The categories you'll be weighing in on? Best guest star and best new series of the 2012-13 TV season! The winners will join a pretty impressive list of past winners, including great guest stars Glee's Matt Bomer and The Vampire Diaries' Daniel Gillies, as well as reigning best new series champ Once Upon a Time!

So who are the scenestealers competing for best guest star this season? And which new series were able to leave a lasting impression on audiences?

Two major stars visited Fox's Glee this season, and became instant fan favorites in the process: Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker, as Rachel and Kurt's respective mentors! Plus, Fringe's Seth Gabel made a memorable villainous turn on Arrow, Michael Raymond-James won over the hearts of Once Upon a Time fans and Merritt Weaver stole the laughs from Schmidt on New Girl. And don't forget about Scott Foley's guest appearance on Scandal, on which he was so good that they promoted him to a regular for season three!

Competing for best new series? Arrow, Nashville, The Mindy Project and Revolution, as well as cable standouts Bates Motel and The Americans. Oh yeah, the competition is super fierce this year!

Voting for all of the Golden Remote categories ends on July 5 at 9 p.m. PT. Help spread the word on Twitter so you can campaign for your favorites:
