It seems people are willing to get trapped Under the Dome!

CBS' new drama series premiere brought in impressive ratings Monday night, attracting 13.1 million viewers and a 3.2 rating among adults 18-49.

Impressive, right? Well, prepare to be wowed even more by the TV adaptation of Stephen King's novel Under the Dome is broadcast TV's most-watched summer premiere since 2007 (The Singing Bee); it's also CBS' highest-rated summer launch since Big Brother debuted in 2002.

Starring Mike Vogel, Dean Norris, Rachelle Lefevre and Britt Robertson, Under the Dome centers on the town of Chester's Mill's inhabitants after a mysterious, impenetrable barrier (i.e., a dome) surrounds the sleepy town, effectively cutting them off from the outside world.

Comparing the premiere's ratings to the new series that debuted in the fall and spring, Under the Dome matches The Following as the second most watched, just behind NBC's Revolution.

Elsewhere, ABC's The Bachelorette attracted season-high numbers (6.4 million viewers), and NBC's coverage of The Stanley Cup Finals won the night in the all-important adults 18-49 demo.
