Brad Pitt might have just landed himself a franchise.

After a very successful box office opening for the zombie flick World War Z, Paramount has decided to turn to developing a sequel, studio vice-chairman Rob Moore tells The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, based on the Max Brooks novel, was initially envisioned as a trilogy, but those plans were put on hold after the making of the movie experienced notorious production problems.

However, with a $111.8 million worldwide debut, the option is reportedly back on the table.

When asked about a possible sequel during the film's London premiere, Pitt told E! News, "We gotta see if this one works first. But there's tons of information to mine from the book, certainly."

Meanwhile, his leading lady, Mireille Enos, spilled the deets and told us that she had signed on for two more World War Z films.
