The countdown to Kate Middleton and Prince William's baby arrival is getting close, but what if it happens even sooner than we (and the Duchess of Cambridge) anticipated?! Have no fear, friends.

If the big moment comes sooner than expected and Middleton ends up going into labor early, the Palace will turn to one of their backup plans to make sure that the eager royal baby gets delivered safely.

What do these backup plans include, you ask?

According to reports, aides have planned to take the duchess to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading or a hospital in Bangor, near to their home on the Isle of Anglesey, if she goes into labor early or if there is a medical emergency. But if she is at Bucklebury and there is time, they are expected to take her into London to the Lindo Wing.

Pippa Middleton and mother Carole are expected to be by Kate's side as she delivers, along with Prince William, who may have to be flown to the hospital depending on his chopper search-and-rescue duties at RAF Valley.

Queen Elizabeth II and senior members of the royal family will find out about the royal baby's birth at the same time as the Middletons. Meanwhile, the public will be notified with a notice placed on the gates of Buckingham Palace that will also reveal the sex of the baby.

But for now, we just wait.
