Now here's an unusual way to hype your new album.
Kanye West has posted a short film on his official website re-imagining a classic sequence from the grisly 2000 thriller, American Psycho.
Only instead of Christian Bale as Wall Street serial killer Patrick Bateman hacking up a fellow suit with an ax, Scott Disick, offers up his best spoof of the big-screen sociopath—all while talking about his appreciation for the rapper's new disc, Yeezus, which hit stores Tuesday.
"Hey, do you like Kanye West?" Kourtney Kardashian's beau asks his buddy, played by Kim Kardashian's BFF Jonathan Cheben. "The early work was a little too hip-hop for me and my taste, but when Dark Twisted Fantasy came out in 2010, I think he really came into his own both musically and lyrically."
West's song, "New Slaves," starts playing over the stereo (filling in for Huey Lewis and the News' "Hip to Be Square" in the film) as the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star calls Yeezus "the most exciting record so far."
Disick—wearing Bateman's signature white rain slicker—then gives a soliloquy about the meaning of another track, "I Am a God," before brutally offing his pal.
The promo apparently earned the praise of author and Hollywood screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis—who wrote the original novel upon which the film is based—as he took to Twitter jokingly claiming he wrote it.
"Scott Disick's Dream Comes True in the promo that I originally wrote for Kanye's new record but not a lot was used. Kanyewest.com," he tweeted.
