Superman is back…in a big way.
Warner Bros.' Man of Steel dominated the box office this weekend, raking in a whopping $113.1 million, scoring the highest opening ever for a film opening in June, according to USA Today.
The action flick was nearly on target with the predictions of analysts, who estimated that it would hit at least $100 million, but could go as high as $115 million-$125 million.
Meanwhile, This is the End debuted with a much lower weekend box office gross than Man of Steel with $20.5 million, followed by Now You See Me with $10.3 million.
Fast & Furious 6 and The Purge rounded out the top five, with $9.4 million and $8.2 million, respectively.
