Joan Rivers isn't afraid to share her take on, well, pretty much anything. And that includes the royal family.

Namely, Kate Middleton and Princess Diana.

The E! star, who celebrated her 80th birthday on Saturday, didn't hold back while dishing on the comparisons between the two classy ladies in an exclusive sit-down interview for E! News.

"Hip and cool and she wears clothes so beautifully. She knows the job," Rivers said of the mama-to-be. "Diana did not know the job. This girl knows the job," the royal wedding attendee—one of only four Americans—added.

The Fashion Police host continued, explaining how Middleton's average upbringing (at least, according to royal standards) prepared her for her days as duchess.

"Remember, Diana was 19 and came from a very elegant family, so they probably didn't teach her," she said. "This is a girl who came from the outside, so she kind of knows what the job entails, makes a big difference."
