Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are one superhot couple, but the "Girl on Fire" singer admits she once fought hard to put out their romance flame.
"Honestly, I didn't really like him that much. I thought he was too ostentatious," the 32-year-old beauty, who stuns on the July cover of Marie Claire U.K., admits of her hubby of nearly three years.
Speaking of her first impressions, Keys confesses she was once turned off by her husband's flashy style.
"Swizz will have the fastest car, the biggest jewelry, the loudest jacket; everything with him is really over the top. I used to see him and think, 'He is so annoying,'" the singer says of the now father of her son, Egypt.
Eventually, the twosome found themselves in the studio together, prompting their loving relationship to bloom.
"'That's When I Knew' is definitely an ode to my husband," she says of the telling track on her fifth studio album.
And now she reveals she's in a better place than ever with a superchill mindset, thanks to her other half.
"I think we've taught each other a lot," she says of her man. "He's taught me to live more fully and I think I've taught him to live more deeply."
Sounds like she's found the secret to a successful marriage.
