Prince Michael Jackson has canceled his scheduled appearance on the German TV show Wetten, dass…? a day after news broke that his sister, Paris Jackson, had been hospitalized for a suicide attempt.

Reports confirm that Prince Michael was meant to film the show for its summer edition in Mallorca, Spain.

However, earlier today Silke Blömer, a spokeswoman at the German TV station ZDF, announced that the 16-year-old's management had decided to cancel his trip to Europe.

Blömer said, "Under these circumstances, we perfectly understand that Prince Michael prefers to stay close to his family. We wish Paris the strength and power to recover soon."

In an ironic twist of events, Paris was originally booked for the hit overseas show but her brother later filled in after scheduling conflicts arose.

Katherine Jackson, through her attorney Kevin Boyle, told E! News, "Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you."

Boyle added, "Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention. Please respect her privacy and the family's privacy."
