Who doesn't love leftovers?

Justin Theroux has landed the lead in The Leftovers, Damon Lindelof's new drama pilot for HBO, E! News confirms. It is based on Tom Perrotta's 2011 novel about the people and the world that is left behind after the Rapture, the biblical event when saved souls ascend to heaven.

Jennifer Aniston's husband-to-be will play police chief and father-of-two Kevin Garvey, who is trying to keep his life as normal as possible in a place that is anything but.

Theroux is no stranger to HBO; he had guest-starring arcs in both Sex and the City and Six Feet Under.

Deadline first reported the news of Theroux's casting.
