The Today anchors got down and dirty on Thursday.
Slipping out of their usual morning show attire, Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Natalie Morales and Willie Geist donned some athletic wear to take on a Tough Mudder obstacle course which, according to Tough Mudder's website, is designed "to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie."
Sure enough, the fearless five did just that as they made their way through a pool of ice, carried some wood, crawled in mud under barbed wire, dragged around a few tires before successfully (though, not easily) climbing a slick 12-foot-high quarter pipe dubbed Everest.

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, along with hundreds of fans watching in Rockefeller Plaza, could be seen and heard cheering.
Not to mention laughing.
