Adrian Peterson: Gay Marriage Is Not Something I Believe In

NFL MVP doesn't believe in homosexual unions, but "to each his own"

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson recently spoke out about his views on gay marriage last week. 

The NFL MVP says that he doesn't support gay marriage but was sad to see fellow Vikings player Chris Kluwe, an advocate for gay rights, leave the team.

"It hurt me to see him leave," Peterson said last week to Sirius/XM NFL Radio. "To each his own, [but] I'm not with it."

"I have relatives who are gay. I'm not biased towards them. I still treat them the same. I love 'em," he added. "But again, I'm not with that. That's not something I believe in. But to each his own."

He also addressed reports that Kluwe was booted from the team for his outspoken personality and personal beliefs.

"I'm sure the Vikings organization didn't release him based on that. They know Kluwe. They've been knowing him for a long time. They know he's outspoken," he said.

Gay marriage will become legal in the state of Minnesota beginning on Aug. 1.
