Talk about a home run!

One of America's highest paid athletes, Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez, just got a bit richer, thanks to the $30 million sale of Miami Beach home.

According to a release by A-Rod's realtors at ONE Sotheby International Realty, the whopping sale price is one of the highest in history on the tony North Bay Road, where the property is located.

So just why did the Yankee's home fetch so much money?

"The demand for trophy homes worldwide, especially those contemporary in design, has never been greater," said one of Rodriguez's agents, Mayi de la Vega. "Alex's home, with its stunning all-glass design, natural coral rock and sleek white oaks floors, is a shining example of the modern architectural style that is very much in vogue today among affluent buyers."

Along with a modern feel of the manse, the new owner of the 48,160-square-foot gated property will have access to a rooftop deck, home theater and Zen gardens. And since the home was custom built for the slugger back in 2011, it includes such athlete-friendly perks as a stand-alone gym and 3,000-square foot sports room, plus a sauna and steam room for a little post-workout rest and relaxation.

We know we wouldn't mind going into overtime in such luxe accommodations!
