Prince Charles and wife Camilla were given quite the mid-air scare earlier today when their helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing, a palace rep confirmed to E! News.
The couple were approximately 15 minutes into the flight from London to the Hay Literacy Festival in Powys when the chopper encountered a "technical fault," causing the pilot to make a surprise landing at Denham Aerodrome in Buckinghamshire.
The plane reportedly had more than five people on board in addition to Charles and Camilla.
But an abrupt change in travel plans didn't stop these two keeping their commitments. A palace rep explains that the twosome "were determined to carry out their visit to the town of Hay and the Hay Festival and travelled on by car."
And despite having quite a frightful morning, the couple greeted the crowd at the festival only a few hours late.
We're glad the two are safe and sound!
