Romantic comedy vets Grant and Bullock to team for first time; play coworkers who fall for each other

It looks like the reigning king and queen of the romantic comedy will finally be meeting their matches: each other.

Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant--whose careers are almost synonymous with "heartwarming" and "laugh-out-loud-funny"--will be starring in their first feature film together, a yet-to-be-titled romantic comedy for Castle Rock Entertainment.

Bullock stars in the feature as Lucy Kelson, a neurotic lawyer with an extremely successful courtroom track record. Grant plays her boss--an incredibly rich man who oozes charisma but tends to be a bit irresponsible. Not only must the two surmount their opposing personalities, but also must avoid the pitfalls of an office romance. What will happen?

We're guessing a minimum $20 million box-office opening weekend.

Between them, Grant and Bullock have kept the multiplexes teeming with many a first-date flick over the past decade. If you couldn't get to first base during Bullock's Miss Congeniality, Forces of Nature or While You Were Sleeping, then a trip to Grant's Bridget Jones' Diary, Notting Hill or Nine Months would surely seal the deal.

The new project also marks screenwriter Marc Lawrence's first stab at directing. Lawrence penned Bullock's last feature, Miss Congeniality, and had an uncredited scriptwriting contribution to Grant's Mickey Blue Eyes. Lawrence is also sharing producing duties with Bullock.

Cameras are expected to roll in February for a Yuletide 2002 release.
