Tim McGraw wasn't only thinking about his health when he quit drinking.

"I just learned to text not too long ago, not too many years ago," the country superstar told E! News earlier this week while promoting ACM Presents: Tim McGraw's Superstar Summer Night (airing Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS). "It was mainly because of drinking that I learned to text so I could text my wife without calling her [and] slurring."

And then McGraw cracked, "Then I started slurring my texts and I quit drinking."

Joking aside, McGraw and wife Faith Hill have one of the very few celeb marriages that haven't ended in divorce.

Just last month they wrapped up their 10-weekend concert series at the Venetian in Las Vegas.

"I love singing with her," McGraw gushed. "The show in Vegas went really really well. They were magical nights."

Hill is one of the many singers who joined McGraw for his television special. Also making appearances are Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Ne-Yo, Pitbull, Florida Georgia Line with Nelly, Lady Antebellum and The Band Perry.

"A lot of time it could be a hassle for people to do something like this, but this was a night where everyone genuinely was great and they wanted to be there," McGraw said. "It was really loose and fun. It felt like a night that was really just about great music."
