Ouch.

American Idol's season 12 finale brought in over 7 million less viewers than last year's finale, attracting just 14.3 million viewers. Candice Glover's confetti shower marks the first time one of Idol's finales failed to break 20 million viewers. The Fox reality singing competition also experienced a 44 percent drop in the adults 18-49 demo from last season's final outing, dropping from a 6.4 rating to a 3.6.

But not every show experienced a ratings decrease on Thursday night...

The Office's series finale saw an uptick in ratings, with 5.4 million people tuning in to say goodbye to the Dunder Mifflin gang.

Elsewhere, Scandal's finale became its most-watched episode ever with 9.1 million viewers, improving on lead-in Grey's Anatomy's 8.6 million.

And The Big Bang Theory continued its ratings domination, netting 14.8 million viewers and a 4.4 rating in the demo, the best of the night.
