Kris Allen is going under the knife again.

The American Idol champ is set to undergo another operation to repair the badly broken wrist he sustained in a January car accident because it didn't heal properly.

"My wrist has not healed like it should and I am going to need another surgery," he wrote in a message on his website. "My surgery will leave me with limited movement for the rest of my life but will take away the pain and give me most of my strength back."

The 27-year-old Allen told fans not to worry though—he's gonna be fine.

"After everything is healed I will be able to play guitar. I will be able to play piano. I will be able to throw a baseball with my kid. I will be able to do the things that I love to do. Just not a proper push-up," the "No Boundaries" crooner said.

Allen also had some advice for people on how to avoid a similar fate.

"The only thing that keeps coming to mind (and may seem trivial to some) is DO NOT GET ON YOUR PHONE AND DRIVE! This is an issue I've had to get better at myself," he added. "You may not hurt yourself but you could end up hurting someone else. My family is safe and I will end up in great shape but this could've been a lot worse."

Indeed. The Arkansas-born singer suffered the injury in a head-on collision on New Year's Day with his wife, Katy, and their French bulldog, Zorro, in the car with him.

Luckily, save the broken wrist, everybody was OK, and Kris also took the occasion to announce on Twitter that the couple is expecting their first child.
