Joss Whedon and Sarah Michelle Gellar return to TV at the same time? It must be fate!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer's creator and star both have highly anticipated new series debuting in the fall, with Whedon's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for ABC and Gellar starring alongside Robin Williams in CBS sitcom The Crazy Ones. But could we possibly see Gellar reteam with Whedon for a guest appearance on S.H.I.E.L.D., an idea so nerdgasmic that we're pretty sure it would cause the Internet to spontaneously combust.

We caught up with Gellar on the red carpet at the CBS upfront presentation in New York City, where she revealed whether she'd be open to a guest spot on S.H.I.E.L.D., plus she and Williams gushed over each other. A lot!

Brace yourselves, Buffy fans 'cause SMG says a possible reunion with Whedon isn't up to her!

"You'd probably have to ask [CBS president] Les Moonves about that question," she tells us. "I don't think I could answer that one! It might be a little complicated!" That's your cue to start sending wooden stakes to Moonves' office, Buffy fans!

As for her role on The Crazy Ones, which centers on a father-daughter duo who runs an advertising business together, Gellar reveals she "stalked" Williams to get it! "I even called his best friend and I was like, ‘I have to be on this show. Please tell Robin!' I really did!" she explains.

Luckily, the feeling was mutual as Williams tells us Gellar's involvement convinced him to return to TV. "When I found out she was doing it, I was like, ‘OK, this is cool!'"

Of working with Williams, Gellar gushes, "He is a legend, Think about it: Greatest standup comic of all time, Academy Award winner and nicest man on the planet." After hearing his TV daughter's high praise, Williams jokes, "It's like if Gandhi did standup!"

Oh, and Gellar, a mother of two, isn't the only huge Williams fan in her family as it turns out her daughter Charlotte with Freddie Prinze Jr. is, too, thanks to his voice work in Aladdin! "I'm a hero because my daughter got to meet the Genie and Kelly Clarkson [pilot guest star], so I am mother of the year!"
