Struggling filmmakers, take heart. Not every Hollywood star is finding success crowdfunding their next movie.

Just ask Melissa Joan Hart.

Unlike Zach Braff, who raked in $2.6 million worth of pledges on Kickstarter for his new indie project, the former Sabrina, the Teenage Witch star failed in her goal to raise $2 million to make the romantic comedy Darci's Walk of Shame, forcing her to scrap the funding drive completely.

On April 11, Hart launched her Kickstarter website for the film, which would've seen her play an ex-schoolteacher who travels to Thailand solo to attend her sister's wedding only to wind up dealing enormous emotional hurdles when she impulsively sleeps with one of the waiters from the reception.

Alas, despite a cute video featuring her mom as well as perks for donors like Melissa recording an outgoing voicemail message, giving away the original "hero" costume she'd wear in the flick or even handing out a speaking role, the campaign was a dud.

Before Hart officially canceled it two days ago, her Kickstarter efforts garnered her $51,605 from 315 backers, who will now be getting their money back since her goal wasn't reached.

That's a far cry from the $5.7 million Veronica Mars movie pulled in too.

Hart's rep has not yet responded to request for comment.

The thesp is gearing up for the premiere of the third season of Melissa & Joey on May 29.
