Shakira has nothing but praise for Angelina Jolie.

When asked by E! News what she thought of the Oscar winner undergoing a preventive double mastectomy, the superstar suggested Jolie's brave decision to go through with the surgery and then go public about it make her a terrific role model

"I think she's such a smart woman and what she's doing is inspiring so many women out there to make educated decisions, and I commend her for that," Shakira told us yesterday at the red carpet for The Voice's live elimination show in Los Angeles.

Shakira is just one of many celebs coming out in support of Angelina's brave decision to go public about her surgery.

In an interview with USA Today published Wednesday, husband Brad Pitt gave Angelina heartfelt praise: "She could have stayed absolutely private about it and I don't think anyone would have been none the wiser with such good results. But it was really important to her to share the story and that others would understand it doesn't have to be a scary thing," he said. "In fact, it can be an empowering thing, and something that makes you stronger and us stronger."
