Jon Voight: My Daughter Angelina Jolie Is an Inspiration

Exclusive: Star's father commends her for revealing her decision to get a double mastectomy

Jon Voight is a proud father.

He exclusively told E! News that he's 100 percent supportive of his daughter Angelina Jolie's personal decision to undergo a preventative double mastectomy in an effort to decrease her risk of breast cancer.

"My love and admiration for her can never be measured in words. I think she is an inspiration to many people who are faced with the same situation," he said.

The veteran actor added, "I think she is quite magnificent in the way she is handling this. She is taking care of things. She does careful diligence and she has this courage to gather information and make decisions from it. It has been very successful and I heard she was able to travel soon afterwards."

But the praise didn't end there. Voight's beaming affection for his daughter seems to know no bounds.

"She is an amazing person. She is also an extraordinary mother. She includes them [her children], when she can without scaring them, and makes it understandable to them," he told E! News.

He further commended her for making her journey public, saying, "She will make a difference in so many people’s lives. She will inspire many people.”
