Need you now, indeed.
On Monday's Chelsea Lately, Lady Antebellum was asked how the band members met to form one of country music's hottest groups.
Charles Kelley recalled how he and Hillary Scott were at a bar in Nashville, Tenn., when Scott "walked up to me and said she had heard some of my music randomly online and said, 'I really like your voice.' And I said, 'Let's get together and write some songs,' which is a pretty typical Nashville pickup line."
Kelley added, "She came over about a week later and we started writing and formed a band [along with Dave Haywood] about a month or two later."
When it came up later that Scott had been rejected not once, but twice from American Idol, she happily said with a smile, "The few times we've played the show, it feels really good to stand up on that stage and say, 'I made it anyway.'"
