NBC is doubling down on Chicago!

After the success of Dick Wolf's firemen drama Chicago Fire, the network picked up Chicago PD, a spinoff centering on District 21 of the Chicago Police Department.

We chatted with Chicago Fire's two leading men Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney (take a moment to ogle, people!) about the new spinoff and the potential for crossovers, as well as what fans can expect from the rest of the season. Plus, which one of the hunks admitted to wearing Spanx?!

Watch: Does "Chicago Fire" Cast Wear Spanx?

"It kind of evolved, so we didn't know much about it. I wouldn't say we were in the dark, but there wasn't anything set in stone," Kinney explained of the buzzed-about spinoff. "Some of the actors, Jason [Beghe] and Jon [Seda], have been a part of our show for the latter part of our season; the idea was spawned through that and came about and everything fell into place. Those guys are great actors, great coworkers and we'll be working hand-in-hand with them." Spencer added that fans can definitely expect "some cross-pollination at some point" between the two series.

Aside from the spinoff, Kinney was also ready to dish out a little secret: He wears Spanx! "I wear them when I sleep," he joked after we asked if they wear Spanx under their firefighter uniforms on the shows. So there you go, guys, you don't need to hit the gym as Kinney said, "It's all Spanx!"

As for Spencer? "I freeball it," he admitted. TMI? Maybe, but who cares!

To hear more from Chicago Fire's two hot firemen, including scoop Casey's "revenge" mission and Kinney's new love interest, watch our interview with them above, during which they put E! News' Kristin Dos Santos in a manwich! (Be jealous, y'all!)

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
