The Young and the Restless will air a special tribute to the late Jeanne Cooper, who passed away earlier this week at the age of 84. Cooper portrayed Katherine Chancellor for more than 39 years, and was the show's longest-running castmember.

The tribute will include the cast from the soap, and friends and family of the actress. To celebrate the life of the Emmy-winning actress, the special will include castmembers sharing their memories of working with Cooper, along with classic clips of Katherine and interviews from the show's recent 40th anniversary celebration.

"Jeanne Cooper was a legend and we want to give her the tribute she deserves," Angelica McDaniel, senior vice president of Daytime CBS, said in a statement. "The cast will honor their longtime friend, family member and coworker in the greatest way possible, as we celebrate her life and vibrant spirit and share it with the audience who loved her as much as we did."

The Young and the Restless' tribute to Jeanne Cooper will air Tuesday, May 28 on CBS.
