Raquel Pomplun is pretty darn hot—and that's not just the fever talking.
"Honestly, I'm thinking I'm so grateful that they look OK because I had a fever in these pictures," the 25-year-old model, introduced today as the 2013 Playboy Playmate of the Year, told E! News during the unveiling of the mag's June cover.
Let's just say, you can't tell that Hugh Hefner's pick for the iconic honor was under the weather.
Pomplun, a biochemistry major and classically trained ballerina, revealed to us that she had 103 degree fever during her photo shoot, but she was not going to let it ruin her once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
"I rocked it," she said. (And who are we to disagree?)
Aside from the fact that getting this title is pretty awesome, being named Playmate of the Year is especially rewarding for Pomplun for one particular reason.
"I can't begin to describe how excited I am to receive this honor and be given the opportunity to represent Playboy as its first Mexican-American Playmate of the Year," Pomplun said in a statement. "Playboy has taught me a side of myself I didn't know before. It's been a year of wonderful surprises!"
Surely Playboy readers will agree.
