Spoiler Alert: Do not read the following article if you've yet to watch The Vampire Diaries tonight. Seriously, you've been warned, so don't be that guy who complains about spoilers in the comments because everyone hates that guy!

Did you hear loud screams and gut-wrenching sobs around 9 p.m.? Yeah, that would be fans of The Vampire Diaries reacting to one of the show's most shocking deaths and twists ever!

In the penultimate episode of the CW hit's fourth season, viewers unexpectedly said goodbye to a fan favorite, while welcoming back a few familiar faces. But is this death really going to stick? Here's what we know...

Yes, people: Bonnie (Kat Graham) is, in fact, dead. Now excuse us while we go out and buy more tissues!

The fan-favorite witch sacrificed herself to bring back Elena's (Nina Dobrev) little brother (and excuse us again while we bawl over their reunion hug!) and ex-boyfriend Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen).

The big twist? She was able to bring down the veil, meaning she can stick around as a ghost and fans will get to see Bonnie graduate and all that jazz...for now. Definition of crazy? Hell, yes—and we love it!  And while sources aren't commenting on how much we'll see of Graham and McQueen next season, we can tell you that Bonnie will end the season dead. Permanently so. Talk about a twist. Damn you, TVD for always keeping us guessing!

Oh yeah, and speaking of twists, prepare to have your jaw unhinged by what happens with one of the lead actors in next week's finale.

Game. Changer.

And because the veil dropped, Matt Davis also returned as our beloved Alaric in the ep and shared some truly bromantic moments with Damon (Ian Somerhalder), whom he gave the cure to by the end of the hour, telling him to "get the girl!" Lexi (Arielle Kebbel) also came back to give Stefan (Paul Wesley) some support and sass about Caroline (Candice Accola) replacing her in his life.

Were you shocked by Bonnie's death? Come ugly-cry with us in the comments!
