Zooey Deschanel was nearly unrecognizable at Monday's 2013 Met Gala, where she hit the red carpet without her trademark bangs. Though she looked stunning in her seersucker Tommy Hilfiger gown, it was her hair that made us do a serious double-take, as she looked like a total, ahem, New Girl with her signature blunt bangs styled to the side.
And now it appears she might be a fan of foregoing her fab fringe. We spotted her swinging by The Late Show with David Letterman for an appearance yesterday with a tell-tale center part that seems to indicate she may be ready to bid her bangs adieu.
But if Deschanel—the indisputable poster girl of bangs—ditches her fringe, does this mean the look is on its way out?
Not necessarily. Plenty of stars are still shearing their strands. Sienna Miller and Nicole Richie recently adopted the face-framing look not too long ago, and Jordin Sparks just debuted new fringe yesterday.
With Deschanel having rocked bangs for many years, we're guessing this New Girl might just be ready for a new look.
