NBC Scoop: J.J. Abrams' Believe, Dermot Mulroney's Crisis and Jason Katims' About a Boy Get Series Orders

First comes Fox, then comes NBC!

The peacock network has picked up two dramas and three comedies, including high-profile projects from J.J. Abrams (who also had a pilot picked up by Fox), Will & Grace's Sean Hayes and a TV adaptation of About a Boy.

Plus, a One Tree Hill star returns to the small screen, as well as an X-Files fan favorite!

Dramas

Believe:  From mega-names J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burke and Alfonso Cuaron, this drama centers on the unlikely relationship that develops between a man sprung from prison and a young girl with a special power after he's tasked with protecting her. The cast includes Jake McLaughlin, Johnny Sequoyah, Delroy Lindo, Sienna Guillory, Jamie Chung and Arian Moayed.

Crisis: Set in Washington D.C., this action thriller stars Dermot Mulroney, Gillian Anderson, One Tree Hill's James Lafferty, Rachael Taylor and Max Martini. The series finds power players being pulled into an international conspiracy and the Secret Service agent who finds himself at the center of it on his first day on the job. Quick, someone call Scandal's Olivia Pope!

Comedies

About a Boy: David Walton takes on Hugh Grant's role in the 2002 hit film adaptation of Nick Hornby's novel. Minnie Driver and Benjamin Stockham star as the single mother and young boy the bachelor man-child befriends in the series from Parenthood's Jason Katims and Robert DeNiro.

Sean Saves the World: Sean Hayes, who also serves as an executive producer, stars a man figuring out how to parent his 14-year-old daughter while dealing with his temperamental new boss. Thomas Lennon and Lindsay Sloane co-star.

The Family Guide: Executive produced by Jason Bateman and David Schwimmer, the sitcom centers on a quirky family coming together after a divorce. Parker Posey, J.K. Simmons, Lost's Harold Perrineau all star.
