Ever wonder what it'd be like attending school with Kate Middleton and Pippa Middleton? Well Bo Bruce—the runner-up in the U.K. edition of The Voice—can tell you.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Bruce reminisced about boarding at Marlborough College around the same time as the Duchess of Cambridge and her younger sis, with whom she played field hockey.

"They were nice to me and I thought they were cool," the 28-year-old waifish singer told the paper. "I'll tell you who was really good to me—their parents. I was the little one on the team, and they always made sure I was all right."

Having aristocratic ancestry herself as the daughter of the Earl of Cardigan (though she'd just as soon downplay her nobility), Bruce also talked about her other connection to the royal family: her cousin Florence, who was Prince Harry's first serious girlfriend.

"She's wonderful. I haven't seen her in so long; we only met when I was about 17. They're a really nice family," she said regarding her relative.

Bruce's first album, Before I Sleep, just debuted in the top 10 of the U.K. album charts, and the aspiring pop star also sings on the soundtrack for Star Trek Into Darkness.
