Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are getting back to doing what they do best: saving humanity.

The trailer for The World's End is in the wild and finds the British funnymen reuniting with director Edgar Wright for a sci-fi comedy that serves as the final installment in the trio's so-called Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy.

Their 2004 horror spoof Shaun of the Dead saw Pegg and Frost stave off a zombie apocalypse (and help ingnite one in pop culture). In 2007's Hot Fuzz, they took subversive aim at action flicks while solving a series of grisly murders in a small town (and shooting while falling in slo-mo).

Now by the look of the U.K. teaser for The World's End, the duo take on alien invasions as they play grown men looking to reunite their old childhood gang for an epic pub crawl that will take them back to their hometown and the fabled pub, The World's End.

Little do they know what lies in store when they get there. The survival of the human species hangs in the balance after they confront a host of nasty E.T.'s with glowing blue light for eye sockets (No, they didn't have one pint too many!).

The World's End, costarring Rosamund Pike and Hobbit/Sherlock star Martin Freeman, invades theaters in the U.S. on Aug. 23.
