We're not sure what's making Julianna Margulies shine so brightly in the worst possible way, but the nude lip and severe hair certainly aren't helping the star of The Good Wife's glazed skin.

There's no arguing that Julianna's skin is in fantastic shape. We love that she said no to the Botox bullies and that her skin is usually glowing. But let's face it: Glow is good, shine is bad (especially when your picture is taken with bright flashes).

Glow catches the light in all the right places while shine brings attention to everything, including lines and pores.

You know what would have helped deflect her reflective skin? A deep berry or warm red lip, which would have also looked stunning with her fair skin and dark hair. And while we're on the topic of hair, why is it so harsh?  We wish Julianna would go back to soft loose waves that soften her strong features and frame her face so beautifully.

Beauty Bailout: Julianna needs to get some mattifying products to turn that shine back into a glow. If you find yourself on the shinier side as well, apply Dr. Brandt Skincare Pores No More Pore Refiner after cleansing. It will soak up the oil, hide and refine pores and mattify the shine.

Afterwards, a good primer is necessary or your makeup will disappear before the appetizers arrive! Choose a good primer that specifically targets shine and gives skin an airbrushed appearance, like BECCA Mattifying Primer.

Hint: Always carry blotting films, such as Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets. Just in case!

As for Julianna's makeup, her look would have been instantly transformed with a statement lip. We would have loved to see her in a deep berry like Lipstick Queen Sinner in Wine or a matte deep scarlet red like Illamasqua in Box.

And The Good Wife should let her hair loose!  It would instantly make her features pop! If she's dead set on a structured half updo, we loved the mod teased bump and headband she did earlier in the year at the SAG Awards.

And that applies to everyone: Ladies, if you have a thick, healthy mane of hair, flaunt it! Plus, it should be your hair—and not your skin—that shines bright like a diamond!
