"I think Lindsay probably needs to get away and have a break," Morgan told E! News on Tuesday night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel where he was being honored by the Brady Center for his efforts to end gun violence in America.
He added, "I'm not sure that rehab really works for her, because I'm not sure if she, in her own head, has admitted that she has any particular problem with drugs or alcohol."
However, Morgan is confident nevertheless.
"What it will do is get her head clear, hopefully, to try and rebuild her acting career," he said. "In the end, she's a great little actress."
"She's good," said the source. "She's settled in and is doing well."
