After learning her friend and go-to designer Nicolas Ghesquière planned to leave his post as Balenciaga creative director, the Twilight star revealed she definitely had his back—even though she had strong ties to the fashion label as the face of its Florabotanica fragrance campaign.
"I was like, ‘Dude, are you okay?" she explained in an interview with German magazine 032c. "And he was like (in a French accent), "Yes, yes. I will tell you soon, but there are things happening.' Before I left, he was like, ‘All right, I'll tell you.'
And once he finally did break the big news, K. Stew proved she's no fair-weather friend.
"I'm so f--cking proud of him, because what he was about to do would rock people's worlds. He was just like, ‘Believe for me.' I thought it was the coolest thing."
She even went as far as telling Ghesquière, "I will totally run away with you."
Whoa, how's that for dedication? Although her loyalty to one of her fave designers doesn't come as too much of a surprise, considering she's repeatedly reached for the designer's creations for high-profile events, including a hot black-and-white number she wore to an On the Road premiere and an edgy quilted motorcycle jacket she sported at Paris Fashion week.
"I've felt the happiest I've ever felt wearing these clothes," she confessed to the magazine.
Whether or not she reaches for designs by Alexander Wang, who took over Ghesquière's post at Balenciaga, remains to be seen, but given the fact that the company just confirmed that Stewart will front a second fragrance campaign, we'd say the chances of seeing her in Balenciaga again are pretty high.
Kristen's new Balenciaga fragrance campaign photos are slated to release this fall.
