With all the force of a rebel yell, punk-inspired looks are back in a big way this season!

No longer reserved for just the streets, edgy punk styles popped up on spring runways at Phillip Lim, Anna Sui, Christopher Kane, Versace and more. And in less than a week, we're sure to see many an A-listers' glam take on the trend at Monday's punk-themed Met Institute Costume Gala.

It won't be the first time we've spotted stars on the red carpet in tough girl chic looks. Cara Delevigne, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus are a just a few of the celebs who have embraced everything from plaid to leather, and—in the case of Rihanna and Cyrus—even bold buzzed 'dos!

But whether you want to channel your inner rebel with as much zeal as those gutsy gals, or simply add a touch of toughness to your style, there are plenty of stylish options to reach your level of punk perfection. Take 3.1 Philip Lim's girly grunge mixed print silk dress, which is just as ladylike as it is loud for the polished punk.

For a more classic approach, Anna Sui's distressed fishnet top pairs well with a T By Alexander Wang's luxe leather bralette (more adventurous gals can wear it solo!), while Tripp NYC's plaid trousers offer a stylish take on punk's staple print.

And while it may be tempting to cover yourself in the trend's other tell-tale design features—studs and safety pins—we recommend limiting such eye-catching details to statement pieces, like Charlotte Olympia and Thomas Binn's safety pin-covered clutch (available May 2), Karl Lagerfeld's sleek zipper-and-pyramid-stud embellished watch or Alexander McQueen's sky-high pumps topped with a sassy skull.

Would you rock a punk-inspired look?
