The American Idol deck shuffled once again last night.

With the field finally limited to the best four singers in the competition (hey, it hasn't always happened), Kree Harrison got some it's-OK-if-you-go-home-tomorrow-night comments from Nicki Minaj, three out of four judges were concerned that Candice Glover was skewing too church and Jimmy Iovine couldn't complain enough about Amber Holcomb choosing to sing "MacArthur Park." (Seriously, though!)

Angie Miller, meanwhile, was praised for giving the night's best performance after she gave a thorough spanking to Jessie J's "Who You Are."

And one of them, though all finale-worthy, had to go.

Or did one?!

Candice and Amber ended up being in the bottom two, but as they clutched hands and waited for the bad news, Ryan Seacrest said, "The person that could be leaving tonight is...no one."

The Idol host then explained that, since the "save" came about in season eight, they had built an extra week into the schedule to accommodate the field not changing from one week to another. And, since the judges didn't save anyone this season, there's an extra week for four to compete before the finale.

So, the more than 38 million votes cast last night will be put toward next week's tally--and only then will one of these ladies head home.
