Jenelle Evans had "a little bit of a wake-up call" this week, her attorney tells E! News.
The jolt that lawyer Dustin R.T. Sullivan is referring to came courtesy of her arrest Tuesday for allegedly assaulting husband Courtland Rogers and possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Rogers was arrested as well and remains in jail in lieu of an additional $50,000 bond for violating probation.
Caswell Beach Police Chief George Kassler told E! News today that Evans went back to Rogers' mother's home (where they were living) on Tuesday night after being released from custody, where "there were words exchanged and an officer responded."
The Teen Mom 2 star then went back to the house today to get her dog, Cassler said.
Meanwhile, court documents obtained by E! News detail the charges against Evans and Rogers, who are both facing counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphrenelia; and simple assault.
The Brunswick County magistrate's order states that authorities recovered 12 bindles of heroin, plastic wrapping paper and a glass smoking pipe from the couple's possession.
Evans is also facing an additional count of simple possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, for having Percocet.
Also per the magistrate's order, Rogers is accused of hitting Evans on the neck and "striking her with a closed fist on her head," while she allegedly hit him with a piece of furniture.
The charges stemmed from a disturbance call placed from the home of Rogers' mother, Cassler told E! News. "We don't know who called. [Evans and Rogers] were having an argument. It started in the house and they both got into the car in front of the house."
The drugs and paraphernalia were discovered inside the vehicle, the police chief said.
