Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis brought smiles to hundreds of faces and helped raise a nice chunk of change to support cancer patients over the weekend in Kansas City, Mo.

While Sudeikis was a headliner, his fiancée was a surprise celebrity performer at the Giggle With Gilda event benefiting the cancer-support group Gilda's Club, named after late Saturday Night Live great Gilda Radner.

First off, local entertainer Missy Koonce served as host and trumpeter Lonnie McFadden and his band kicked off the benefit with some jazz, following moments of silence for those affected by the bombing in Boston and the fertilizer plant explosion in Texas.

Current SNL star Sudeikis, whose mother, Kathy, is a cancer survivor, then yukked it up with comedy troupe The Second City, with Wilde joining in the fun after intermission.

A source exclusively tells E! News that Wilde seemed a bit nervous when she first got in on the sketch-comedy action, but had totally jelled with the improv veterans by the end of the first sketch.

Overall, the insider adds, she and Sudeikis were "absolutely adorable" together and seemed very excited to be a part of the evening—which, best of all, raised $100,000 from donations and ticket sales.

"The evening was super funny and [Jason and Olivia] interacted well with everyone there," the source says. "They seemed like the kind of couple that will be together for a long time."

Paying it forward together sure seems like the right direction to be going in.
