Michelle Rodriguez may live life fast and furious on the silver screen, but in the real world, the Latin beauty is slowing down.

The 34-year-old actress stuns on the May cover of Cosmopolitan Latinas in which she flaunts her enviable curves and shares her secret to looking sexy, while also discussing how she's overcome her troubled past and why she's taking a break from acting.

"The truth is I'm about to say goodbye to acting for a minute and move behind the camera. I got into this business to write," the Avatar actress tells the mag. "I've waited 13 years to actually do it…But like now I'm ready, so that means I have to do the cutoff. I'll go into the mountains, and bye-bye everybody."

But while the brunette beauty may soon be pulling a Ryan Gosling, she won't say goodbye to Hollywood just yet—she's currently working on the animated film Turbo and her flicks Fast and the Furious 6 as well as Machete Kills are both in postproduction. However, considering her troubled past, it's not surprising the actress wants to take a break from the biz.

"I had some bad moments," she admits of her tumultuous past, which included a jail stint and a DUI charge. "I partied hard. The world knew it. I feel like my growth is a progression…I go forward,  and I've had times when I go back."

She continued, admitting she still fights her urge to rebel, "Just last year I had a time where I had a bad stretch. I rebel against everything, including myself. I'm like, 'Oh no, lemme do something f--ked up now.' But then I'm like, 'Okay, what am I doing to myself?'"

Despite her troubled past, Rodriguez takes pride in her Fast and Furious role, and explains how the film has been well received by the Latin community.

"Fast and Furious definitely comes up first for Latin folks I meet at the airport," she said. "They can relate because there are a lot of blue-collar individuals that feel like outsiders just by being in this country. It makes you think that living on the other side of the tracks is just a better option."

One thing that is optional in Michelle's mind? Clothing.
