Nashville PD UPDATE April 22, 2013: A rep for 3 Doors Down releasing a statement to E! News announcing the band has scrapped its upcoming tour dates due to the tragic incident.
"Out of respect to Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr., and his family, 3 Doors Down has cancelled the band's four scheduled U.S. April / May appearances. They will resume touring May 31 in Moscow, and return to the U.S. for scheduled dates in July," said the spokesman.

Todd Harrell has been put behind bars.
The 41-year-old 3 Doors Down bassist was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication after allegedly causing a fatal crash that occurred late Friday night on a highway in Nashville, E! News confirms. The collision claimed the life of a man, who has since been identified as 47-year-old Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr.
According to the press release sent by the Nashville Police Department, Harrell was driving his 2011 Cadillac CTS westbound on I-40 at a high rate of speed when the car clipped Shoulders' 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Shoulders lost control of his truck, which struck a guardrail, traveled down an embankment and overturned. Shoulders was ejected because he was not wearing a seatbelt, and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival to the hospital.
Harrell performed a sobriety test and admitted to consuming hard cider and taking prescription Lortab and Xanax. According to the release, he was also charged with bringing controlled substances into the jail, after a search revealed a plastic bag that contained 8 Xanax pills, 24 Oxycodone pills and 4 Oxymorphone pills hidden in his sock.
The musician is currently jailed in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
In July 2012, Harrell was arrested on suspicion of DUI after allegedly crashing into another vehicle in southern Mississippi. The driver of the other vehicle was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital after suffering neck and back injuries.
Harrell was charged with DUI and for not wearing a seat belt, and was later released on a $1,000 bond.
