The "Come & Get It" singer was indeed in town to see Justin Bieber, who performed three shows in Oslo, E! News exclusively confirms.
"Selena came to Norway to see Justin. She landed when he was onstage," insiders tell us. "They met up privately later. She was picked up by a car from Justin's camp. It was a personal visit."
Gomez then traveled with Bieber to Copenhagen, where he's performing Saturday night, our sources add.
Insiders tell us that while in Oslo, Team Bieber took over the whole eighth (which also happens to be the top) floor of The Thief, Norway's first and only six-star hotel, the latest offering from Forbes-billionaire developer and investor Petter Stordalen.
"We never comment on who stays at our hotel," Stordalen told E! News. "All I can say is that at The Thief we treat all guests like rock stars and all rock stars like guests."
Bieber spent three days in town and on every one of those days, groups of fans waited outside The Thief's main entrance while Justin quietly snuck out the back entrance of the waterfront hotel, where he had a boat waiting for him. Nice transporation if you can get it!
Bieber took the boat to and from the Telenor Arena, a 20-to-30-minute ride.
"Even the Norwegian police did not know how Bieber was transported around," sources say.
According to Norwegian media, Bieber originally planned to stay at the Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica but switched to the newly opened The Thief to better keep off fans' radar.
This is the second time the 19-year-old heartthrob has stayed at one of Stordalen's hotels and, the last time Bieber was in town, the unlikely duo lunched at the Norwegian tycoon's restaurant Eik Annen Etage.
During his stop in Norway, Bieber played three sold-out concerts in front of a combined 66,000 fans. And in the country where five schools actually postponed midterms so that students could better focus on the Bieber in their midst, the Red Cross understandably dispatched "comfort patrols" to walk around and attend to fans who were overcome by emotion.
