He might have been a wee bit (understatement) sensitive when it came to the judges' criticism, but D.L. Hughley had nothing but love after tonight's elimination.
Well, love and F-bombs.
"F--k yeah!" he exclaimed when asked if he's relieved to leave the show.
After laughing maniacally, he composed himself and said, "Sorry but yes, yes I am." Let the record show, D.L. Hughley just might be the happiest person ever to be kicked off a reality show.
Of course, Hughley had it rough during his time on the show, or at least thought he did, as he struggled to deal with the "bully" judges who gave him bad reviews, then didn't allow him to talk back.
But now that he gets to hang up his dancing shoes, the funny man does see one up side.
"Cheryl Burke is my little Asian daughter that I've adopted," the comedian tells us. "We've become so close."
"Every single day he made me laugh and we had fun," D.L.'s partner Cheryl added. And then we could swear we heard Len Goodman snicker when she told us, "He didn't take himself too seriously."
Hughley says he's now rooting for Andy Dick "just because I want to say Team Dick on television."
Fair enough. Tune into E! News Tuesday night at 7 and 11:30 p.m. to see more of Will Marfuggi's exclusive DWTS interviews!
