Jenna Bush Hager Welcomes a Baby Girl—See the Precious First Photos!

Former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager has given birth to her first child.

"Laura and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our grandchild, Margaret Laura 'Mila' Hager," former president George W. Bush and his wife said in a joint statement released on Sunday. "Mila, daughter of Jenna and Henry Hager, is named for her grandmothers. She was born last night, April 13, at 8:43 p.m. in New York City."

The statement added, "We met our beautiful granddaughter today. Jenna and Mila are healthy. And our family is elated."

Jenna is currently an education correspondent on Today, which tweeted the first photos of the little bundle of joy.

This is the first grandchild for George and Laura Bush—and the first niece for Jenna's twin, Barbara.

Jenna announced in December that she and her husband were expecting.

The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony at the Bush ranch near Crawford, Texas, on May 10, 2008.
