Simon Cowell may think a politician has the X factor, but don't expect him to cast his ballot for that person.

"Do you know, I've never voted, I never have," Cowell said at a launch event for the new season of Britain's Got Talent, the Huffington Post reports.

When asked why he's never exercised his right to do so, Cowell simply replied, "I can't be bothered."

That's not to say he still doesn't have a vested interest in who gets elected.

"I've supported people," said Cowell, before reiterating: "But I've never actually voted."

The whole voting thing came up with Cowell when the subject of the late former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was broached.

"You don't get elected three times without talent," he said. "She polarized people, but sometimes that is what people with talent do. Some people like you and some people don't. You can't win over everybody."
