Rep for Hollywood legend says reported story "not accurate"

Was Lindsay Lohan thisclose to receiving some help from none other than Liza Minnelli?

Well, according to a report that surfaced on Tuesday, the Oscar winner was not only allegedly approached to help orchestrate an intervention for the embattled starlet, but a rep for the 67-year-old icon has supposedly confirmed it.

However, when E! News reached out to said rep for some sort of confirmation of our own, we were told this whole story is "not accurate" nor did Minnelli ever confirm this.

Yep. Just another example of how you can't believe everything you read, folks.

Meanwhile, Lohan, who made a memorable appearance on the Late Show With David Letterman on Tuesday night, will soon be required to serve her 90-day court-mandated stint in a lockdown rehab facility as part of her plea deal stemming from a car crash last summer.
