Lovebirds Trista and Ryan Sutter have found a way to defy the Bachelor curse (a secret they obviously aren't sharing).

The first-ever Bachelorette fell in love and married firefighter Sutter back in 2003—and after 10 years of marriage, the couple gave fans a peek at their life in Colorado and revealed how they've managed to keep going strong for so long on tonight's episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now?

"Honestly, I think inside of each of us we know the relationship is gonna last and love is not necessarily a fairy tale," Ryan told Oprah Winfrey. "Love is a commitment."

Although the pair let their courtship and wedding be broadcast for the nation to see, they said that they don't live any differently nowadays than your average married couple with two kids.

"We were married in 2003, and we're in 2013 now and really living life quiet and happy in Colorado," Trista said. "Life in the Sutter home is all about our kids."

Ryan added, "Yeah, I don't think life in the Sutter home is unlike most American homes."

And that seems to be working out just fine.
