Ryan Gosling Played Spin the Bottle With Britney Spears During Their Mickey Mouse Club Days

"Britney was a sweetheart," the actor says of his childhood pal

And just like that, we've become even more jealous of Britney Spears.

It's no secret the singer and Ryan Gosling were both Mickey Mouse Club members before they grew up and shot to superstardom, and the hunky Place Behind the Pines star recently opened up about their experience as kids working together in the biz.

"Britney was a sweetheart," the sexy star told The Sunday Times magazine. "She lived right above me, the girl next door. The little girl I used to play basketball and spin the bottle with."

Jokes aside, Gos also commented on the talent that came out of the Disney show, which also featured successful stars such as Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and Keri Russell:

"It is remarkable, but it isn't, in a way," he explains. "Now you have the X Factor and all that stuff, but back then it wasn't around. You give these kids an unparalleled work ethic, which is why you see the difference between 'N Sync and those other bands, and between Britney and Christina and the other girls." 

But despite his admiration for fellow MMC members, the Drive star says he doesn't keep in touch with his former costars. "Not really. I mean, sometimes you are at the same event, but it's a lot like I imagine what it's like to run into someone from elementary school."

Maybe an elite elementary school with an A-list class.
