Watch: Selena Gomez Talks New Album

Selena Gomez is in a good place these days, and her upcoming new album is going to reflect just that!

"It's interesting, because I started recording about six to seven months ago, so I was in a different place in my life then," she told E! News' Kristina Guerrero with a smile. (As you'll recall, Ms. Gomez and Justin Bieber split in November 2012.)  "And then going through movies and going through the transition has been really fun for me."

"After going through some of the most interesting, cool times in my life, I've come out a better person," the Spring Breakers star explained. "And it's definitely what I want to exude."

She premiered her new single "Come and Get it" Monday morning on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM show. And while it's cute, catchy and seems like it could possibly be about the Biebs, Selena clarified that it's "not really about a specific person."

It's just a celebration of being single!
