Ryan Phillippe Joins Twitter, Begins Film Promotion Instantly

Actor recently produced the documentary Isolated and has his directorial debut coming up

Reese Witherspoon's ex-hubby opened up one of those brimming-with-possibility social media accounts for himself this week—but, so far, the 38-year-old actor has tweeted nothing but shop.

"Really excited for you guys to see my directorial debut SHREVEPORT!" Phillippe wrote yesterday, his first original tweet. "Info and pictures will be released exclusively through my new twitter!"

And the indie movie-within-a-movie thriller Shreveport, in which Phillippe also stars as a fading star who's kidnapped while shooting a film in the titular Louisiana city, isn't the only project that's been keeping him busy.

Phillippe is also all about promoting Isolated, a documentary he just executive produced along with Geoff Clark about five friends who head to Papua New Guinea for the pristine surf and end up learning far more about the local culture than they ever could have imagined.

"Thanks to everyone who has already followed me on my first OFFICIAL @twitter page- appreciate the support," Philippe tweeted in appreciation today.

He only had 374 followers at press time—but we doubt his page will remain so isolated for long.
